Our purpose is to be a Light in our community.  We CONNECT people to Christ, GROW spiritually together, and SHARE the good news of Jesus to the world.

Our Core Values

FBC Pine Mountain holds beliefs consistent with the Southern Baptist Faith and Message, 2000

About God

  • There is one living and true God, infinite in holiness and perfection. God reveals Himself to us as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes, but without division in nature, essence, and being.
  • Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, identified Himself completely with mankind yet He was without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He redeemed man from sin. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is fully God, fully man, and in whose Person is accomplished the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to complete His redemptive mission.
  • The Holy Spirit indwells every believer. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He secures the believer until Jesus Christ returns.

About the Bible

The Bible is the supreme spiritual authority on what we believe, how we behave, and how we conduct the ministry of this church. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Both the Old and New testaments are testimony to Jesus Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

About Human Beings and Eternity

Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Man’s nature is inclined toward sin. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable all people to fulfill the creative purpose of God. Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven.

About Salvation and Grace

Our salvation is the work of God's grace alone and is offered freely to all who, by faith, accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In its broadest sense salvation includes the regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification of sinners. It respects human free will, demonstrates God’s sovereign goodness, and encourages humility. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

About Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water symbolizing faith in Jesus Christ, dying to sin, and rising to a new life. The Lord’s Supper memorializes Jesus Christ’s death and anticipation of His return.

About the Church

A New Testament church is a local community of baptized believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ, to obeying all His commands. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ. It seeks to bring the gospel to the world through verbal witness, Christian living, and other methods aligned with the gospel.

About The State

The civil government is of divine appointment for the interests and good order of human society. Civil leaders are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed except in things that oppose the will of the sovereign Lord of our conscience and His revealed will in the Bible.
